Eight children from the around the world have their health and educational needs met through the donations of thirty-two St. John's parishioners. The children also receive cash birthday and Christmas gifts. Volunteers to help support this organization are always welcome.


This is a coalition of area churches that seeks to coordinate efforts to address unmet human needs. These community efforts include: the Domestic Violence Program with temporary housing, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Babes, Homeward Bound, diversity workshops, a clothing room, and the annual Christmas Food Basket Drive. St. John's helps support this agency monetarily and with donations of needed items.


An organization which ministers to the poor, hungry people of our community by providing one hot meal seven days a week at their Decatur location. The Inn has a full time paid director and assistant, but most of the work is done by volunteers from our city among which is a group from St. John's. In addition to volunteering, St. John's also provides a good will offering taken the first Sunday of the month at both services.


This is a joint effort with other area churches to give monetary support to persons in the community who have emergency needs such as rent, utilities, medical expenses, etc. This program helps the elderly with their prescription drugs costs as well.


An agency that makes sure people in our community receive the nutritious meals and the human connection they need to help them live. While some volunteers at St. John's provide help on a weekly basis, an organized effort is made one week each year in which St. John's takes charge and provides the manpower needed to provide meals for that week.


The mission of the Northeast Community Center is "to assist needy families in the community with resources available in a caring and Christ-like manner." Each Sunday at St. John's, a canned goods collection is taken and then donated to the Center.


This is a day care center for the homeless community which helps provide access to lodging and jobs. St. John's supports this center by providing and delivering 52 cases of bananas a year.


In addition to those listed on this page, parishioners from St. John's also help support such agencies as Growing Strong, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, the Judy Mason Thanksgiving Basket Project and the American Red Cross.
